Parenthood in its broadest sense can be said to be the state of being a parent, or one who is either a father or a mother. It's also a will and ability of parents to respond to the needs and aspirations of the children and the family at large. Simply put, it is a shared responsibility of the husband and wife, which are parents to provide the necessity of life for their progeny. However, a parent is a caregiver of the offspring in their own species.
-"Mother would say you have your own life to live and I also have mine, so you can't kill me, I'm tired of you". Ola said.
-"Mother would say meet me at the Church, when you're done". Joseph said, I won't go and when she returns, I do fib to her and she forgets it, she never cares nor worries about me and my life, she prefers I should just live it the way it pleases me.
-"Mother wouldn't allow me to do anything, she puts the tasks up to the maid at house, she will do it all".

Those few examples up there are the attributes and characteristic of parenthood.
Meanwhile, motherhood, preferably 'Abiyamo' in Yoruba land means 'Mother'.
Motherhood is a state of being a mother, it's the state or experience of having or raising a child, giving, adopting and raising a child is an example of motherhood.
A child will only survive only at the mother's will.
Also, a mother is a female parent of a child, who inhabits or performs the role of bearing some relations to their children, who may or may not be the biological offspring.

-"Mother would pray for me, give me some instructions and tell me how to live and enjoy life". Ade said
-"Mother would beat and talk to me. If I do anything wrong, she corrects me immediately". Titi said.
-"Mother would give me spankings, if I didn't listen to her". Lanre said.
-"Mother would even pursue me to mosque to observe my obligatory prayers". Musa said.
Distinctively, Parenthood is different from Motherhood in many ways which you could vividly understand in those niche examples.
Obi (Parents) do give up on a child when it comes to a certain point in the life of the children especially on the financial aspect, which makes some so-called parents to give birth without even bothering about him or her anymore. Those are the ones we called Obi (parenthood).
Meanwhile, Motherhood (Abiyamo) is the one who has the characteristic of a mother. Pity enough, not all Obis (parents) worth the title Abiyamo(mothers), because they do not exhibit the characteristics of being a mother.
On the othe hand,Abiyamo (motherhood) can be anyone, irrespective of the gender, it can be a man or woman. They are the ones who suffer on a child, and ensure the well-being of the kids even to the detriment of their life. Interestingly, he or she might not be the biological parent of the said child, but they never gave up on them and never allowed them to be exposed to the life's insidious atmosphere.
Conclusively, I am not saying you should spoil the child in one way or the other, but at least, teach him or her something worthwhile.
Not everything deserves yelling or shouting at, "extracted from my writeup (Parents and Children): sit him down, talk to him, he or she might have some reasons.
Teach them the way of God, either you're a Muslim or Christian, guide them, don't spoil them and never let them stumble.
