Look up: Let not the media change you

Everyday we keep believing we are becoming better humans. When in actual fact we are becoming better machines. We can't do without this devices of delusion, Not because of addiction but because of the fact that we feel that we will face exclusion.

We are the happiest on social media, friends online are jealous of your fake happiness because they have no idea you are dying slowly. We leave our chores to these robots because we are too lazy to do anything and using our hands makes us feel lowly .

We are too lazy to start the ignition of a car instead we press a button, too lazy to use the steering so we use the automatic driving. We have no physical friends again the ones we have slowly fading away, not because you left them but because they are hijacked by these devices of temptation gradually making us lonely.

We don't walk again to the library and read books in hardcover, instead we sit in the comfort of our rooms, on our back with our iPads staring at our faces. We don't have the time to talk to our parents about how we feel, we instead prefer to pour out our emotions to a robot made of steel. We are driven to insanity by the same devices we believe helps us keep our sanity.

We continue looking down to our phones and laptops, we make decisions and we don't ask relatives what they think about it, instead we ask these machines programmed to reply based on algorithm. Children are born human and raised by these devices, "mum I want an iPad or I will kill myself" we don't sit them down again or scold them we just say " okay, okay I will get the best".

It's time to look up from everything, we are glad these devices made our lives easier, but lately they are making our lives harder, pictures and videos of suicide because we look down to our phones to capture the moment, we don't look up to help the victim down instead we form stories of how he died with a frown. Drop that device when you read this message, take a long walk through the alley or a big passage, visit a friend not on social media but in his house, have fun undiluted away from these devices that are gradually turning us to clowns.
